A 32-year-old man from Markham has been arrested in connection with a recent bank scam affecting Peterborough residents, resulting in an estimated $40,000 in losses.
Police were called to a business near Park Street and Lansdowne Street around 6:50 p.m. on Wednesday, after employees identified a suspect they recognized from a police media release issued November 1st. Officers arrived and confirmed the suspect’s identity before taking him into custody.
The suspect faces multiple charges, including three counts of fraud over $5,000, six counts of possession of a credit card obtained by crime, and six counts of failing to comply with probation.
