
As it has been for generations, Salvation Army Peterborough is at the forefront of giving during the lead-up to Christmas, raising money through its kettle appeal and household letter campaign to ease the plight of those struggling in city and county.
Last year, the Hope For All Seasons campaign saw $646,000 raised locally as well as 2,435 Christmas hampers put together and distributed. With the need greater than ever before, this year’s aim is to surpass those numbers.
Major Naomi Dalley, who is on the frontlines of the appeal, says the Salvation’s Army reputation is a factor in the response to it seasonal appeal.

Financial donations can be dropped off at 219 Simcoe Street or made by calling 705-742-4391, extension 257. Donations of new unwrapped toys can by placed in the bin outside Old Navy at Lansdowne Place or brought to the church on Simcoe Street.
