The Ontario PC Party has announced that Dave Smith has been acclaimed as its candidate for the Peterborough-Kawartha riding in the upcoming provincial election.
In a statement, the party says ‘Smith, first elected in 2018, has focused on advancing the region through initiatives aimed at economic growth, healthcare improvements, and infrastructure development’.
Officials went on to say Smith has played a key role in securing funding for critical projects, including high-speed internet expansion, affordable housing developments, and municipal infrastructure improvements.
“Dave’s dedication to the people of Peterborough-Kawartha is unwavering, bringing meaningful improvements to the community,” said Ontario PC Leader Doug Ford. “Whether he’s expanding opportunities for good-paying jobs, enhancing access to health care, or supporting vital infrastructure projects, Dave exemplifies our commitment to a stronger, more affordable Ontario. His work to reduce costs, cut the gas tax, and champion key local initiatives is creating real, positive change for families.”
Smith expressed gratitude to the community and pledged to continue building on the progress made over the past seven years. “I want to thank the great people of Peterborough-Kawartha for putting their trust in me to once again carry the banner for Premier Ford and the Progressive Conservatives in the next provincial election,” Smith said. “We have accomplished so much, but my work is not yet finished. I want to thank my family for their unwavering support and all of my friends who have rallied around me to help make life better for everyone in our region.”
