A 53-year-old Peterborough man is facing several charges following an incident on the evening of November 13th.
At around 7:00 p.m., police responded to multiple reports of a disturbance in the St. Luke’s Avenue and Armour Road area. Officers arrived to find the suspect in a second-floor hallway armed with a machete and a baseball bat. One officer drew a firearm, while another deployed a Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW). The suspect was arrested without incident.
Investigators determined that the altercation began with a confrontation between two individuals. The suspect then went to the other person’s door with the weapons, damaging the door and making threats. Additional damage occurred to another door, a hallway window, an elevator camera, and a vehicle.
The man has been charged with assault with a weapon, five counts of mischief, and two counts of uttering threats.
