It is news that local fans of Sarah McLachlan didn’t want to hear.
The Canadian musical icon has announced she has cancelled her Fumbling Toward Ecstasy 30th Anniversary Canadian Tour, citing ongoing vocal health challenges.
McLachlan released this statement:
“I’m heartbroken to have to announce the cancellation of the Fumbling Toward Ecstasy 30th Anniversary Canadian Tour. My voice is not recovering as it should and, on the advice of an ENT specialist, I will need an undetermined amount of vocal rest to fully recover and avoid risking permanent damage to my vocal cords. Thank you to everyone holding tickets for your patience while we were working to reschedule. I’m truly devastated to have to cancel. XoS”
McLachlan was supposed to perform in Peterborough on November 2nd but that was called off and until now, efforts were being made to reschedule.
Refunds will be issued to ticket buyers via their original method of payment. Customers who purchased tickets at the Peterborough Memorial Centre box office must visit the venue for a refund. Additional inquiries can be directed to the box office at 705-743-3561 or memcentre@peterborough.ca.
