It’s a new year, and that means it’s a time try new things for many – but what about our kids?
Dietitian Emily Szatrowski (zah-trow-ski) spoke to us about kids who are considered “picky eaters” and says nudging them towards healthy eating is important but you shouldn’t criticize the “bad” foods they may want.
Szatrowski also hears about families using the “you can’t play until you finish your meal” rule, and warns that’s a practice that can have consequences on developing minds.
Experts also suggest you offer your kids healthy meals and snacks at regular times throughout the day. This is important to help them get enough nutrients and energy to help them grow and develop.
