With students back to class after the holiday break, the City of Peterborough is reminding drivers to observe reduced speed limits in school zones.
Speed limits have been set at 30 km/h or 40 km/h on roads near elementary and secondary schools, with Community Safety Zones in place.
These measures, which have been in effect for some time, are part of the Drive Slow PTBO campaign, designed to improve safety for students, pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers, especially during busy school arrival and dismissal times.
With school zones often congested with buses, parents, and children, the city is encouraging everyone to slow down and be aware of their surroundings.
