A local organization dedicated to fostering a deeper appreciation of nature is marking its 85th anniversary this year.
Formed in 1940 as the Peterborough Nature Club, the Peterborough Field Naturalistsew holds monthly meetings and host natured-themed events.
The first meeting of 2025 is this Thursday (January 9) at the Canadian Canoe Museum, 5 to 8 p.m., and will feature a slideshow highlighting the club’s activities over the years.
PFN president Sue Paradisis says the organization continues to attracted new members, proving that its mandate still resonates after all these years.
Paradisis touches on PFN’s primary objectives.
Like any club, Paradisis says the social aspect of events and outings is important to members.
