More than 1500 vehicles were stopped as part of three separate Festive RIDE checks held by Peterborough Police.
The latest stats have been released for the stops, which happened between December 20th and January 1st.
In all:

According to investigators, at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 21st, officers conducting a RIDE check on Lansdowne Street West near Kawartha Heights Boulevard. During the check a 37-year-old Peterborough man was stopped and as a result he was charged with:
Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court February 11th.
The other fail happened at approximately 9:45 p.m. on December 28th, when officers conducted a RIDE check near Chemong Road and Broadway Boulevard during which a 38-year-old Peterborough man was stopped. As a result, he was charged with:
Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court January 28th.
