The Peterborough Jr. A Lakers lacrosse team has issued an urgent call for billet families to host players this upcoming summer season, with a pressing need starting as soon as February 2025.
The team announced that one of their promising young athletes will be relocating to Peterborough to continue his education in the second semester of high school. This player is in need of a supportive and nurturing home environment where he can balance his academic pursuits with his athletic commitments.
The initiative to find billet families is not just about providing a roof over their head but also about integrating these young athletes into a community and family setting where they can grow and excel. “We’re looking for families who can offer more than just accommodation; we need environments where our players can feel at home and thrive both athletically and academically,” said Jeff Ralph, assistant coach with the team.
Why Become a Billet Family?
• Community and Family: By opening your home, you help cultivate a sense of belonging for these athletes, many of whom are far from their families.
• Support the Team: Your contribution directly impacts the success and development of the players, ensuring they have the support needed to achieve their potential in lacrosse and in life.
The Peterborough Jr. A Lakers are not just about winning games; they are committed to the overall development of young athletes. The team’s philosophy centers on creating well-rounded individuals who can succeed on the lacrosse floor and in their personal lives. This initiative to find billet families is a testament to their commitment to their players’ well-being and success.
