Community Futures Peterborough is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a significant boost to its Community Advancement Program (CAP), doubling the funding available for 2025 to $100,000. The program, aimed at supporting economic growth and job creation in the region, will distribute these funds to local not-for-profits, charities, municipalities, and First Nation communities.
The Government of Canada, through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), is backing the initiative. Last year’s funding total was $50,000, and this year’s increase underscores Community Futures Peterborough’s ongoing commitment to regional economic development.
The program’s goal is to foster business attraction, retention, and employment through targeted community projects. Ten successful applicants will receive non-repayable funding of $10,000 for their initiatives.
The deadline for CAP applications is March 7th, with successful applicants notified by April 1. More information and program guidelines can be found on the Community Futures Peterborough website.
