A 32-year-old has died following a serious two-vehicle collision on Highway 7, near the intersection of Parkhill Road and Lily Lake Road.
The crash, which took on Wednesday at around 6:30pm, prompted a response from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP, along with Peterborough OPP, Fire, and EMS.
The name of deceased has not been released. The second driver involved in the crash was rushed to a trauma hospital with life-threatening injuries.
OPP collision reconstruction officers closed the area for several hours to gather evidence, but the cause of the collision has not yet been determined.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing and authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dash cam or surveillance footage to contact the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
