The City of Peterborough has received a third-quarter payment of $664,043 from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation for hosting Shorelines Casino Peterborough.
This payment, covering the period from October 1st to December 31st, brings the city’s total fiscal year revenue from OLG to $2,130,706. Since the casino opened in October 2018, Peterborough has received $14,508,090.
These payments are calculated using a standardized formula applied to gaming revenue across all Ontario casinos.
“OLG’s Municipality Contribution Agreement payments help pave the way for Peterborough to build critical infrastructure and fund important programs that make a real difference for residents,” said Dave Smith, Member of Provincial Parliament for Peterborough-Kawartha. “Shorelines Casino Peterborough supports numerous jobs and generates a great deal of economic activity that, in turn, improves the well-being of our local community.”
Since 1994, OLG has contributed more than $2.2 billion in non-tax gaming revenue to host communities across the province.
OLG reinvests 100 per cent of its profits back into Ontario, with funds supporting local economic development, infrastructure projects, and job creation. Over the past eight years, service providers have invested more than $2.5 billion in private capital across Ontario, resulting in new casino developments, gaming floor expansions, and non-gaming amenities.
