A 43-year-old Peterborough woman has been found guilty of careless driving causing death under the Highway Traffic Act in connection with a tragic collision on Woodglade Boulevard that killed a 3-year-old girl in March 2023.
The verdict was delivered on January 24th and sentencing is scheduled for February 28th.
The collision occurred on the morning of March 23, 2023, when a vehicle left the roadway and struck the young child in the driveway of her residence. The child was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries but later succumbed to those injuries. No other injuries were reported.
Following a five-month investigation by the Peterborough Police Service Collision Reconstruction Unit, the driver was charged on September 6th, 2023.
