For Rotary Club of Peterborough president Ken Seim, the apple really hasn’t fallen far from the tree.
After moving from to Peterborough from northwest Ontario, and having an uncle that was a member of Rotary in Ajax, Seim inquired about joining the service club. He did just that, subsequently learned that his grandfather served as president of Rotary in Hanover in 1942-43.
Following in his footsteps, Seim now leads what was one of the first Rotary clubs back in 1921. He says there’s a distinct difference between leading a service club as opposed to a workplace setting.
Speaking to his leadership style, Seim says it’s a combination of encouragement and listening. He’s also mindful that, as president, he’s continuing a decades-long tradition of strong leadership.
