It was the opener of what has been described as one of the biggest weeks for the Petes as the try to climb into a playoff spot.
Their opponent the Ottawa 67’s who they were scheduled to play in a home and home series were tied in points with the North Bay Battalion were looking to take sole possession of 8th in the Eastern Conference.
The Petes meanwhile went into the game just five points back of Ottawa and North Bay were looking for a win on the road to inch their way closer to the post season with only 17 games left in the regular season.
