The Connor McDavid OHL Top Prospects Game will make its way to Peterborough next year, with the Memorial Centre set to host the game on January 14th, 2026.
The event will feature the league’s top prospects, including local star and Petes’ third overall draft pick Colin Fitzgerald, who is eligible for the 2026 NHL Draft, giving fans a chance to see some of the OHL’s rising stars in action.
“We’re very excited to be co-hosting the 2026 Connor McDavid OHL Top Prospects Game with the City of Peterborough,” said Petes General Manager Michael Oke. “This is a great opportunity for our fans to see some of the top prospects for the 2026 NHL Draft up close. This provides us with an excellent opportunity to showcase the City of Peterborough and the Peterborough Memorial Centre.”
OHL Commissioner Bryan Crawford expressed his enthusiasm for the event’s return to Peterborough, building on the success of Brantford. “Peterborough presents a tremendous opportunity for the league to build upon that foundation and take this event to the next level,” Crawford said.
Mayor Jeff Leal highlighted the significance of the game for the community, noting that it would offer a chance to showcase Peterborough’s facilities and hockey passion on a national stage. “Peterborough is home to one of Ontario’s most passionate hockey communities,” Leal said. “This event will be an inspiring one for future hockey stars, players and fans and will generate positive economic impact for local businesses and community members.”
Last month’s game in Brantford showcased rising stars in an East vs. West format, with the Eastern Conference picking up the win following an overtime goal by Peterborough native Porter Martone of the Brampton Steelheads. Petes stars Carson Cameron and Aiden Young, along with Cavan’s Josh Avery of the Brantford Bulldogs, also represented the East in this year’s showcase.
Tickets for the event will be available first to Petes season ticket holders, with further details and special events to be announced in the coming months.
