
The Ontario Hockey League has announced disciplinary actions against both the Erie Otters and Peterborough Petes following an altercation during the second period of their game on Sunday at the Erie Insurance Arena.
Otters Head Coach Kris Mallette has been suspended for five games, while Assistant Coach Ken Peroff has received a two-game suspension. The Erie Otters Hockey Club has also been fined $7,500.
Otters forward Alex Messier has been suspended for a total of nine games due to his infractions, which included a Game Misconduct for being an Aggressor, a Game Misconduct for Continuing an Altercation, and exceeding the regular season fighting major threshold, triggering an automatic two-game suspension.
Petes Head Coach Rob Wilson has been suspended for five games, and the Peterborough Petes Hockey Club has been fined $5,000.
Petes defensemen Grayden Strohack has been suspended for a total of four games due to his infractions, including a Game Misconduct for being the third man into a fight, triggering an automatic two-game suspension, as well as a Game Misconduct for Continuing an Altercation.
