The City of Peterborough has approved a renewed agreement with the Otonabee Region Conservation Authority (ORCA) for the continued operation of Beavermead Campground.
The city has partnered with ORCA to run the campground since 2015, with terms reviewed every five years and potential for a five-year extension. The updated terms include an annual payment from ORCA to the city to cover maintenance costs.
Under the new revenue-sharing model, ORCA will retain 10% of the campground’s gross revenue, with any additional profit split evenly between ORCA and the city.
Beavermead Campground provides a variety of camping options, including both seasonal and transient sites for trailers and tents. The campground features 18 unserviced campsites and 77 serviced sites, with 30-amp or 50-amp hydro service and water hookups.
Each campsite is equipped with a fire pit and picnic table, and campers can access showers and washrooms at the comfort station.
For those with accessibility needs, Beavermead Campground offers four 50-amp accessible campsites. These sites feature accessible picnic tables, fire pits, and paved trailer pads, and are located near the comfort station with accessible showers and washrooms. Additionally, a sanitary dumping station is available for campers’ convenience.
