The Peterborough Petes have called up forward Joseph Cadorin and defenceman Marcus Sulug ahead of their final home game of the season against the Kingston Frontenacs on Thursday night, General Manager and Vice President of Operations Michael Oke announced.
Cadorin, a Kleinburg, Ont., native, was drafted by the Petes in the fourth round (76th overall) of the 2023 OHL Priority Selection. The 18-year-old forward returns to Peterborough after a strong season with the Pickering Panthers of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL), where he tallied 16 goals and 21 assists for 37 points in 39 games. He also contributed four points in five playoff appearances. Cadorin, who played 52 games for the Petes last season, will wear No. 24.
“Joe has had a good year with Pickering in the OJHL,” Oke said. “His coaches spoke very highly of him and his development throughout the season.”
Sulug, a 17-year-old defenceman from Stoney Creek, Ont., was selected in the 10th round (185th overall) of the 2024 OHL Priority Selection. He played 21 games with the Burlington Eagles U18’s this season, recording six assists. Sulug also made his Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL) debut with the St. Catharines Falcons. He will wear No. 2 for the Petes.
“Marcus has made a positive impression with the Burlington U18’s this season,” Oke said. “He is expected to be in the lineup tonight and will get his first opportunity to play in the OHL.”
The Petes host the Frontenacs at the Peterborough Memorial Centre on Thursday, marking the final home game of their regular season schedule.
