Trent University’s 2024 United Way campaign raised an impressive $134,543, shattering its original goal of $120,000.
The funds, raised by faculty, staff, and retirees through donations and special events, will benefit the United Way Peterborough and District, helping to provide essential services to individuals and families in the region.
The campaign saw a boost through initiatives like the “Double Your Difference” matching drive, inspiring 36 new donors and unlocking an additional $19,000. This year’s funds will support shelter, meals, home care visits, and social learning opportunities, addressing critical community needs.
This success contributes to the United Way’s overall $1.5 million campaign goal, with Trent continuing its role as the largest workplace partner for the organization. Since 1965, the university has raised over $2.9 million for the United Way.
