
A 34-year-old Peterborough man is facing a robbery charge after a violent altercation at a local business on Saturday morning.
Officers were called at around 10:30am to a store in the George Street North and Rink Street area following a reported theft. According to police, a male customer was asked to leave after a loss prevention officer (LPO) saw him concealing items. As the man exited the store, he reportedly punched the LPO in the face before fleeing the scene.
Officers quickly responded and located a man matching the suspect’s description several blocks away, where he was arrested without further incident.
The man is facing a charge of robbery with violence.
