Shovels are now officially in the ground for the new Riverview Manor.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Monday at the site on Langton Street.
Officials say the new home will feature 132 new beds and 124 redeveloped beds, along with eight 32-bed Resident Home Areas.
Peterborough-Kawartha MPP Dave Smith gave credit to the Omni Quality Living team, saying this initiative will modernize and enlarge the facility. He added in the next three years more then 600 long-term care beds will be added here in Peterborough-Kawartha, continuing on the government’s promise to ensure Ontario’s seniors get the quality of care and quality of life they need and deserve.
It’s expected to welcome its first residents in 2026.
