A report of vandalized vehicles has led to a criminal charge for a Trent Hills woman.
Officers from the Peterborough County OPP detachment received a complaint on March 24th, regarding two vehicles with slashed tires on a private property. The complainant alleged the damage occurred overnight and suspected it was motivated by jealousy, pointing to their ex-partner’s new partner as the likely culprit.
An OPP officer contacted the suspect, who initially denied involvement. However, police say the woman later contacted the same officer and admitted to the act.
As a result, a 38-year-old woman from Trent Hills has been arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000. She is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough at a later date.
Police continue to remind residents of their role in maintaining public safety and upholding the law.
