A live music-based fundraiser for Peterborough shelters and agencies providing homelessness relief returns to Showplace this Wednesday night (March 26) for a fifth time.
Starting at 7 p.m., Peterborough Performs V will see 14 local acts hit the main theatre stage as well as perform in the more intimate Cogeco Lounge, with all proceeds to United Way partner agencies on the front lines of homelessness.
United Way Campaign Cabinet member and organizer Paul Rellinger says while every act booked is going to knock it out of the park, the main stage closing set, featuring The Spades joined by the Weber Brothers, promises to be one for the ages.
Audio PlayerRellinger says planning for the fundraiser started back in the fall.
Audio PlayerRellinger says more than anything, Peterborough Performs is rooted in the opportunity for people to not only help ease the burden of the homeless, but also send an important message.
Audio PlayerSince its inception in March 2020, Peterborough Performs has raised close to $110,000, with close to 100 musicians featured.
Tickets are available at www.showplace.org and at the box office right up until show time.
