The Mac & Cheese Festival is coming to Peterborough next week, offering a month-long celebration of the beloved comfort food.
Organized by the Peterborough Downtown Business Improvement Area (DBIA), the festival will run from April 1 to 26, featuring exclusive mac & cheese specials at 17 participating downtown restaurants.
Food lovers can sample creative spins on the classic dish throughout the month, with options ranging from homestyle recipes to gourmet twists like The Dirty Burger’s Mac & Cheeseburger Samosa. Each dish will compete for the People’s Choice Award, with voting available online.
The festival culminates in a Grand Finale event on April 26, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., at Quaker Foods City Square. This outdoor event will feature mac & cheese vendors offering samples, live entertainment, and a beer garden with local breweries. A panel of celebrity judges will determine the Judge’s Choice Award, crowning the best mac & cheese in Peterborough.
The event will also include performances by four local bands, and attendees can enjoy drinks from local breweries such as 100 Acre Brewing Co., Sandbagger Hard Seltzer, and Maple Light.
