
The City of Peterborough will open reception centres on Sunday, March 30, to provide warmth and device charging for residents facing extended power outages due to ongoing freezing rain.
Ice accumulation from freezing rain that began on Friday has caused outages across the city, with further precipitation expected overnight Saturday. As a result, municipal facilities will be available as reception centres from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday:

Peterborough Sport and Wellness Centre, 775 Brealey Dr.
Hydro One crews are working to repair downed lines and restore power, while City Public Works and Forestry crews continue to clear roads, sidewalks, and trails and address fallen trees and branches. Residents can report downed trees on City property by calling Public Works at 705-745-1386, a line available 24/7.
