There will still be some public school closures in Peterborough City and County on Thursday.
The following statement was released Wednesday by the KPRDSB:
We continue to resume school operations where possible, with power being restored in more schools allowing them to open for students and families. We also recognize that some families and staff are still dealing with the impacts of prolonged power outages or storm damage.
Storm clean-up and power restoration efforts are ongoing, and the condition of sidewalks and roads, including traffic light operations, may vary in each neighbourhood and area. Families should take care in planning their students’ routes to school.
Most schools and child cares are open tomorrow, Thursday, April 3, except for the following closures due to ongoing power outages:
NORTHUMBERLAND/QUINTE WEST
- Camborne Public School
- Plainville Public School
- Roseneath Centennial Public School
CITY AND COUNTY OF PETERBOROUGH
- Buckhorn Public School
- Crestwood Intermediate School and Crestwood Secondary School
- Norwood District Public School
- Norwood Intermediate School and Norwood District High School
- Warsaw Public School
The schools identified for closure will remain closed tomorrow for the day, even if power is restored at sites later this evening or overnight.
As always, families should check www.stsco.ca for the most up to date daily transportation information, including any individual route cancellations.
