Schools across Peterborough, Peterborough County, Northumberland, and Clarington will reopen Thursday, following closures caused by the recent ice storm.
Officials say students and staff who can safely attend are encouraged to return.
In the City of Kawartha Lakes, all schools will also reopen, with the exception of St. Luke Catholic Elementary School in Downeyville, which remains closed due to a power outage.
Despite the re-openings, the board warns transportation disruptions are expected to continue as local bus companies work to address challenges caused by the storm. Families are advised to check with their school boards or transportation providers for the latest updates on bus availability.
