Almost all Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board schools have regained power, but Buckhorn Public School and Warsaw Public School will remain closed Friday due to ongoing outages.
The board acknowledged the challenges many students, families, and staff continue to face with prolonged power disruptions following last weekend’s ice storm. Despite progress in restoration efforts, officials confirmed that the two affected schools will stay closed for the day, even if power returns overnight.
All other KPR schools and child care facilities will be open as usual on April 4th. Families are encouraged to check www.stsco.ca for the latest transportation updates, including potential route cancellations.
KPR officials expressed gratitude for the patience and resilience of the community and extended thanks to utility crews, municipal workers, and emergency responders for their ongoing efforts in power restoration and storm cleanup.
