A second vehicle stolen in a series of auto thefts in Peterborough last week has been recovered, but one remains missing.
Peel Regional Police located the 2022 Toyota Corolla on Sunday, days after it was taken from a residence on Park Street South on March 26. However, police say the suspect has not been found.
The Corolla was one of three Toyota vehicles stolen early that morning. A 2024 Tundra was later tracked, leading to the arrest of an 18-year-old from Saint-Sophie, Que., by Quebec police. The third stolen vehicle, a 2024 Land Cruiser, remains unaccounted for and was last seen heading toward Highway 7.
Police previously said the suspects broke into both the Land Cruiser and Tundra by smashing the sunroofs. Personal belongings and GPS units from the vehicles were found kilometres away, and authorities believe a black sedan was used in at least two of the thefts.
