A longstanding program that connects generations is back, with the 2025 Grandparent of the Year Award set to be presented in June.
For 37 years, Community Care Peterborough has encouraged kids to celebrate the wisdom, kindness and influence of a grandparent, elder or special older person by nominating him or her for the award, which is again presented in partnership with The Gardens of Peterborough Retirement Residences.
Nomination packages have been sent to local elementary schools but are also available for download at www.commcareptbo.org.
Community Care director of donor and public relations Chris LeBlanc says the initiative serves to remind us of the continued positive impact older adults have on young people.
