The Peterborough Police Service is asking for public feedback through a new Community Perception Survey, open from April 4 to June 3.
The anonymous and voluntary survey is part of the service’s 2024-2027 Strategic Plan, which focuses on enhancing community safety, modernizing policing services, and supporting officers. Chief Stuart Betts said the survey will help police better understand public concerns and perceptions.
“As we embark on initiatives to meet these goals, it is important to hear from our largest stakeholder – the community. This is so we can understand how they interact with the Service, how safe they feel in our policing areas, which issues are of concern, and how they believe we are living up to our motto of professional, friendly, helpful,” Betts stated.
The survey includes about 35 questions on topics such as police interactions, public safety concerns, awareness of specialty units, and crime prevention efforts. Some questions are part of a broader study involving other mid-size police agencies.
Residents can complete the survey online at peterboroughpolice.com/survey2025. In-person opportunities will be available at the Peterborough Home and Garden Show on April 5-6 and the 175th Anniversary Community Celebration on May 31.
