
Peterborough residents can help shape the City’s 2026 Budget by filling out a survey and attending a public consultation meeting.
The community survey is open until 11:59 pm on Friday, April 25. It’s available online at connectptbo.ca/2026budget, or in print at City Hall, 500 George St. N.
A community engagement meeting will be held Thursday, May 29 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm in the Friends of the Library Community Room at the Peterborough Public Library, 345 Aylmer St. N. The session includes a brief presentation and a chance to speak with members of City Council and the City’s Budget team.
Council is scheduled to discuss the direction for the draft budget at a General Committee meeting on June 2, followed by ratification at a Council meeting on June 9. The Draft 2026 Budget is expected to be presented November 3, with additional engagement opportunities that month, including:

Budget deliberations on November 17 and 18
Mayor Jeff Leal is expected to present the final 2026 Budget for adoption on Monday, December 8.
