A 41-year-old Brampton man is facing several fraud-related charges after police were called to a Peterborough bank Friday afternoon.
Officers responded to the bank around 4:30pm on April 11 after staff reported a customer trying to open an account using fake identification and documents. When police arrived, they saw a man matching the suspect description attempting to leave the bank. He was taken into custody without incident.
Following an investigation, the man was charged with fraud over $5,000, two counts of using or acting on a forged document, and obtaining credit by false pretences or fraud.
He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on May 20.
