A 57-year-old Brampton man was arrested in Peterborough on Wednesday after being wanted on a warrant for multiple thefts.
The arrest took place around 4:15 p.m. outside the Home Depot store, where officers apprehended two men matching the description provided to police.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the pair had been involved in a theft incident at the same store on April 8. The men had filled a cart with items but only paid for some of them at the self-checkout before leaving the store.
The man was arrested on the strength of the warrant and remains in custody. He is facing 15 charges of theft under $5000 and is set to appear in court today.
A second man, a 27-year-old from Brampton, was also arrested and charged with three counts of theft under $5000. He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on May 27.
