If you needed proof the race to represent Peterborough on Parliament Hill is close – look no further than a visit from Liberal leader Mark Carney.
Carney visited the Peterborough Sport & Wellness Centre on Saturday and spoke to a crowd of hundreds of supporters about the party platform, which includes breaking down provincial trade barriers by Canada Day which the party says will expand the Canadian economy by $200 billion.
Right now, according to the polling site 338Canada, our riding is listed as a ‘Toss Up’ with both Liberal candidate Emma Harrison and Conservative incumbent Michelle Ferreri pegged at 43 per cent support. New Democrat Heather Ray is well back at just 8 per cent.
Other candidates vying for the seat include the Green Party’s Jazmine Raine, the PPC’s Jami-Leigh McMaster, Matthew Grove of the Christian Heritage Party and Chad Jewell who is running as an Independent.
