
Three men from the Greater Toronto Area are facing drug trafficking charges following a police raid at a Peterborough residence.
Peterborough Police say the arrests stem from an ongoing drug investigation that began earlier this year. Officers with the Drug Unit and Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant around 3:00pm Wednesday at a home on Driscoll Terrace, near Hunter Street East.
One suspect was arrested while trying to flee the residence. Two others were located near Dalhousie and George Street and arrested following a brief foot chase, with assistance from K9 Isaac.
During the search, officers seized a loaded firearm, 53.7 grams of cocaine, 11.1 grams of fentanyl, 30 Percocet pills, cellphones, and more than $5,000 in cash.
A 24-year-old man from Scarborough is facing eight charges, including trafficking cocaine, possessing a loaded prohibited firearm, and possessing proceeds of crime over $5,000.
A 23-year-old man from Scarborough faces six charges, including three counts of trafficking cocaine and possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl.
A 21-year-old man from Toronto is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and fentanyl, and possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000.
