A 35-year-old Havelock man is facing 13 charges after breaching release conditions and fleeing from police on a motorcycle in Douro-Dummer Township.
Peterborough County OPP say they received information around 6:30am on Saturday that the man was violating his court-imposed release terms. Officers located him riding a motorcycle on Division Road, but he fled when they attempted a traffic stop.
The motorcycle was later found abandoned at the roadside. A K-9 unit was called in, and officers found the man hiding among some trees shortly after.
He was arrested and charged with dangerous operation, flight from police, operation while prohibited, and failure to comply with both a probation order and a release order. He also faces several traffic-related offences including driving while suspended, stunt driving, no insurance, no plates, and operating an unsafe vehicle.
