Family and friends are mourning the loss of a longtime Peterborough County politician
Barry Pomeroy, who served as the last reeve of Havelock before the village amalgamated with Belmont-Methuen, later served three terms as a village ward councillor before opting not to seek re-election in 2022.
First elected in the late 1970s, Pomeroy also served as a volunteer firefighter for many years.
A celebration of Pomeroy’s life will be held May 4th, 1 to 4 p.m., at the Havelock Legion.
