A 23-year-old Peterborough man has been charged with criminal harassment following an incident at the Walmart on Chemong Road last month.
Police say two women reported being followed closely through the store on the evening of March 8, with the man possibly recording or photographing them. The behaviour made them feel unsafe.
An investigation led to the identification of a suspect. On April 28, an off-duty officer spotted him in the Walmart parking lot and, with help from the Peterborough Police Investigative Services unit, arrested him.
The man was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on June 3.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact Peterborough Police at 705-876-1122 x555 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
