Peterborough’s unemployment rate has jumped to over 13 per cent.
According to the latest numbers put out by Stats Canada, our region has a rate of 13.5 per cent, which is up from 11.9 in December.
The national unemployment rate was 8.6 per cent in December, as the economy lost 63-thousand jobs.
Officials say total hours worked fell for the first time since the onslaught of the COVID-19 pandemic in April.
