There will be a notable change coming to the 2023 Peterborough City Council schedule.
At Tuesday night’s meeting, councillors gave preliminary support to a proposal to have no meetings in the month of July and to return to a regular meeting schedule in August. Typically, Council has meetings in July and no meetings in August.
It is hoped that this change will align with some of the outside boards and committees.
The 2024 budget guideline report will now be presented on May 23, 2023, with the public meeting held on May 31st. The 2024 budget deliberations will be held the third week of November 2023.
The schedule proposed includes three General Committee meetings in June.
Early in the term of the new Council staff will report on the feasibility of making other changes to the Council schedule and Procedure By-law to improve efficiency and further clarify the meeting rules.
