Stuart Betts has been officially sworn in as Peterborough’s police chief.
Betts brings more than 25 years experience and was previously Deputy Chief of Operations for the London Police Service.
He says this was a big decision, but it was right for his family.
Betts adds he’ll bring some different skills to the position that he’s learned along the way at each stop of his career.
Mayor Jeff Leal says he’s excited to start working with Betts to make sure the community is as safe as possible.
It was announced in November that Betts would be coming aboard as a full-time replacement for Scott Gilbert who retired last February.
