Members of a Trent University student fraternity will again brave the elements, this time around aiming to raise $5,000 for Habitat For Humanity
On February 10th, and continuing until February 12th, Tau Kappa Epsilon members will host their 12th annual TKE In A Box Fundraiser, living and sleeping in a tarp-covered box in the Venture North parking off George Street near Sherbrook Street.
Fraternity president Ben Hofmann says the group “wants to be part of the solution” to the homelessness emergency, noting this isn’t the first time they’ve taken upon themselves to be just that.
Hofmann says fraternity members will be active trying to get the attention of all who pass.
While any money raised will help Habitat For Humanity with its ongoing builds, Hofmann says the real value of the fundraiser lies in bringing more awareness to the housing crisis.
