Debbie Quinlan’s commitment to, and passion for, Special Olympics’ mission has few parallels locally, and that has paid a huge benefit for athletes over a number of years.
A coach for Special Olympics swimming and kayaking, as well as co-head coach of women’s soccer, Quinlan’s full dedication to the wellbeing of those with intellectual exceptionalities is anchored in their “having fun and making friendships.”
Quinlan’s involvement with Special Olympics began with her young daughter’s participation as a swimmer.
Fundraising, adds Quinlan, is vital to ensuring opportunities for Special Olympics athletes can be explored and taken advantage of.
