The Ontario Hockey League has released its verdict following a thorough review of the incidents that occurred during Saturday’s game between the Peterborough Petes and the Brantford Bulldogs. The focus of the review was on a series of altercations that unfolded after the conclusion of the game, that saw both benches clear after the Petes won the game in overtime.
As a result of the League’s evaluation, Peterborough Petes defenceman Konnor Smith has been handed a suspension, which will see him sidelined for a total of four games. In addition to this suspension, the Petes have been fined $2,000.00.
The Bulldogs Lucas Moore, a Peterborough native, and Noah Roberts, have each been suspended for two games while team was also fined $1,000.00.
The OHL also announced that Bulldogs Cedricson Okitundu, who was given a match penalty earlier in the game, for cross-checking Peterborough’s Sam Mayer in the face, has been suspended three games for that incident.
Smith is eligible to return to the Petes lineup when they travel to Erie on October 28th.
