If you’re looking for something to do over the holidays, you can take part in the 124th annual Christmas Bird Count that is taking place until January 5th.
The Christmas Bird Count began in 1900 and has become North America’s longest-running wildlife census.
Lesley Rudy, Nature Network Organizer with Ontario Nature, says the data collected from this wildlife census is used by scientists to monitor the health and status of resident and migratory birds.
Rudy says if you’re interesting in participating, it’s easy for you to get involved
She adds that anyone is welcome to join
