Peterborough city council has endorsed Joy Lachica’s motion urging federal and provincial governments to bolster support for college boards.
The motion highlights the impending retirement of 700,000 skilled trades workers by 2028 and the recent program cuts at Fleming College, emphasizing the necessity of maintaining courses to meet local economic needs.
The resolution will be forwarded to relevant provincial and federal ministries and representatives including Peterborough-Kawartha MPP Dave Smith and MP Michelle Ferreri.
