The ReStore is returning a town over.
Habitat for Humanity Peterborough & Kawartha Region (PKR) is has announced the grand opening of their new Lakefield ReStore.
The store, located at 3001 Lakefield Road in Selwyn, aims to further Habitat PKR’s mission of supporting local families and individuals through affordable homeownership. Communications Manager, Holly O’Connor, says the end of the lease at the Peterborough South location was a big reason for this store’s opening.
The community is invited to join Habitat PKR for a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking this significant milestone. Attendees will enjoy food, music, and have the opportunity to be among the first to explore and shop at the new ReStore. The store offers a wide selection of quality new and gently used building materials, furniture, appliances, and home décor items. O’Connor says it’s a great opportunity for Habitat PKR to expand their reach in the region.
Habitat ReStores proceeds from sales directly supporting Habitat for Humanity’s efforts to help families build strength, stability, and self-reliance. O’Connor explains.
In 2023, Habitat PKR’s ReStores diverted 331,730 items from landfills in the Peterborough & Kawartha Region, contributing to a more sustainable community.
The store opens on Wednesday, July 24, at 10 a.m.
